“Nothing changes until something moves.” –Albert Einstein

We all know that Einstein knew his way around the universe.  So if you’re feeling a little stuck and world-weary, maybe Albert’s words of wisdom will help the earth move for you.

Often times it’s easier to complain about our circumstances than to make a move.  We get stuck on Life’s Waiting List: waiting for a sign, waiting for the timing to be right, waiting for things to be perfect—always waiting—afraid to make a false move.  But as W. L. Bateman once said, “If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep
on getting what you've always got.”

Get your name off the waiting list and on to the ‘To-do’ list.  If it’s time to move on, move up, or move out, make your move.  You already know what to expect if you do nothing: more time in Life’s Waiting Room with an old magazine.

Good things may eventually come to those who wait, but come faster to those who take action.  It’s time to move some proverbial mountains, one shovel full at a time. Can you dig it?

Bust a move,

"You only get to be a victim once. After that, you're a volunteer." - Naomi Judd

It’s time for a check-up from the neck up.  Let’s drop in and see what condition your condition is in.  Do you have your mind set on playing the victim on the stage of life?  Maybe it’s time to audition for a new role.

When we refuse to accept personal responsibility for our lives, we relinquish our power to change the very circumstances that imprison us.  And once we succumb to the victim mentality in any area, whether at work or in a relationship, we begin to identify with that title.

Are you suffering from Poor Me Syndrome (aka PMS)?  Then it’s time to reclaim control of your life.  Nobody wants PMS.  If you’re placing someone else’s opinions above your own, begin to listen to your own instincts and gut feelings.  Put some boundaries in place.  Make some decisions.  Stamp the seal of approval on yourself.

Going from victim to victor is only a few steps away.  Start by changing the setting of your mindset. Victim or volunteer…

Volunteering doesn’t pay,

Gina :-)

“Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.” –Vivian Komori

If life is indeed a game, are you taking care of the ball?  Do the daily stressors of life have you bouncing off the wall or are you on a roll?

It’s human nature to want to be bigger, better, and faster—yet even the fastest runner can fall and fail to get up. But those who bounce right back when they’re down have learned that true success is determined by perseverance. When Thomas Edison was asked about his many failures in inventing the light bulb, he replied, “I have not failed.  I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

So if you’ve dropped the ball in some area of your life, whether it’s your job, relationship, or that New Year’s Resolution to get in shape, don’t hang your head in shame and retire to the bench. Life is not a spectator sport.  Participate.

Learn to roll with the punches.  Bounce starts with a ‘Be’—so, let it. It’s time to get back in the game.

The ball’s in your court,

“The Wright brothers flew right through the smoke screen of impossibility.”
-Charles Kettering

Impossibility.  Just add an apostrophe and stroke of the space bar and presto change-o—it immediately becomes I’m possibility!

If impossible means unimaginable, then most of us who were using things like dictionaries and encyclopedias in the early 1990s would have called Google impossible.  In fact, it would have been inconceivable to google something at that time, since most of the world didn’t even have the internet yet!  Consider other technologies that we now take for granted, like cell phones and email, which once would have sounded like science fiction.

Unthinkable? Unrealistic? Unbelievable? Maybe it’s time to undo the ‘uns’in your life. What limiting beliefs are holding you back from a world full of impossibilities just waiting to happen?

Take a step in the Wright direction. Let your dreams take flight. Mission: possible!

The sky’s the limit,

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” -Anonymous

Take away the ‘D’ and the Danger Zone ominously becomes the Anger Zone, and for good reason.  Anger and resentment are not only harmful for us mentally, but lead to some serious physical problems.

Hoping to increase your blood pressure and heart rate?   Try getting really upset at the person who cut you off in traffic.  Planning to dump toxins into your system and actually make your blood boil?  Become outraged when your computer freezes.  Slam some doors and yell if you accidentally get the wrong order at Dunkin’ Donuts. And while you’re at it, raise your blood sugar and clog your arteries by being generally ticked off.

In addition, recent research at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America showed that almost two-thirds of cancer patients identified resentment and inability to forgive as personal issues for them.

Flying off the handle only leads to a bad landing.  Blowing your top, fuse, or gasket hurts you, both body and soul.  Think before you give someone a piece of your mind.  Make sure you can do without it first.

When you see red, stop and use your head!
