Hmmmmm…08/27/12

“And suddenly you know: It's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.”-Meister Eckhart

Here’s a news flash for the newbie!  While nothing can replace the wisdom of experience, there are few things that are more freeing than being a novice.

There is a certain level of expectation that comes with success.   The bar is raised, never to be lowered again.  And if you make a mistake, there is a widespread belief among your peers that you somehow should have known better.  As Winston Churchill told us, "The price of greatness is responsibility.”

It is much less expensive to be a beginner.  Though you will certainly have a price to pay by enduring some humbling moments, others will also be more forgiving and willing to help you.

Don’t feel rooked by being a rookie.  Enjoy being a beginner—you’re in good company.  No one else has lived this particular day before either. We’re all just a little wet behind the ears. Kind of makes you want to just help and forgive all over the place, doesn’t it?

Fellow novices take notice: uncertainty is certain.  Embrace it.  Remember, they don’t call it Beginner’s Luck for nothing!

Feet first,

Gina J
