Hmmmmm...05-21-12
“You must do the thing which you think you cannot
do.”
-Eleanor
Roosevelt
Take a moment and recall a time when you were filled
with fright. Maybe it was the first time
that you were standing on the end of a diving board. Perhaps it was the first time that you were
sitting behind the wheel of a car. Or
was it the first time you stood before an audience with a microphone in your
hand?
You had a choice then. You could have turned from the diving board
and gone back to safer ground, thereby fueling your fear. Or you could have propelled your body forward
and entered the water, then surfaced with an ear-to-ear grin, delighted in the
knowledge that you just looked fear in the face and laughed.
As Mark Twain so aptly stated, most of the things we
worry about never happen. And each time
we face our fears, we gain strength and self-confidence.
So what’s holding you back? Could it be that whatever is blocking your
path is your path? Instead of waiting for the fear to pass, do it
afraid.
Go ahead and take a chip off the old block.
Have the last laugh,
Gina J
